My home is in a residential community with swimming pool and tennis courts. My furniture is modern with nautical and antique accents. The master bedroom is on the first floor with it's own tub/shower. Also on the first floor is the kitchen, living room (with wood-burning fireplace), sunroom (with six skylights and, a gas fireplace) and, a half bath for guests. There are two bedrooms upstairs; the largest (12'x20') has a queen sized bed, electric fireplace and flat screen TV. The second upstairs bedroom has a computer/fax/printer and a fold out Queen Size bed. The second floor Bathroom has a tub/shower. The downstairs floor plan is very open and, there is a deck outside the Sunroom. There is a one car garage with a workbench, small frig., microwave, sink, sound system and, flat screen TV. It serves as a Party/Rec. room when the car is parked outside. My home has a sound system, and, five new flat screen TV's including the one in the garage. And, maid service is provided. I have a X2 Segway, 2003 Toyota MR-2 sports car and, an older GMC 4-wheel drive Jimmy for the beach which is three and a half hours away in North Carolina. I also have a 1/10th ownership, ocean front, 4-bd, 3-bath, home at Nags Head, North Carolina (see picture). I have five weeks there per year and it's use might be part of a home exchange. Finally, I own a Ted Brewer designed Cape North 43' sailboat which I keep at the Subic Bay Yacht Club, Philippines. It can sail anywhere and could be part of an exchange.

![]() Our neighborhood
My neighborhood is suburban but, only five minutes from downtown Williamsburg. Williamsburg is the Olde Colonial Captal and a tourist delight. Busch Gardens is located just outside Williamsburg as is the Waterpark. Jamestown is thirty minutes away on the Olde Colonial Parkway with Yorktown at the opposite end. Both are within 30 minutes from Williamsburg which is in the middle. Washingyton D.C. is a three hour drive but, you can also get there by Amtrack or fly out of Richmond. The Richmond airport is 45 minutes from Williamsburg. And, Norfolk, Hampton,Newport News, etc., are an hour away via Interstate 64. There are hundreds of musuems, parks, historical sites, festivals and much more within an hours drive of Williamsburg. The Chesapeake Bay is 30 minutes away with every boating activity imaginable. Finally, the Blue Ridge Mountains are only 2 1/2 hours away by Interstate 64. The mountains offer so much via bluegrass, hundreds of wineriers, camping, the Appalachian Trail, festivals, the Blue Ridge Paarkway, etc. that it's hard to describe. You really can't visit here for only a week or two, there's simply too much to explore. Incidently, I travel to the Philippines for months at a time in the winter. Sailing is really my thing which explains the boat. And, when I'm not there it's chartered with a captain and crew member. And, that is a whole different scene. With 17,100 islands it's hard to get bored and, I love it! I could arrange charters if you are interested. Something about ourselves
I'm a retired Sociologist and taught at the College of William and Mary for 32 years. My wife passed away over ten years ago which explains my zest for sailing. She loved the boats we owned but, didn't like wind, water and waves that much. Her idea of sailing was being at anchor, swimming, grilling out and, watching the stars. So, I mostly sailed the dinghy. While at William and Mary I taught "Global Envirionmental Degradation" among other things. This explains my love of the outdoors and, of Mother Nature in general. I have two children, two step children, three very grand-kids and one on the way. I retired in 2001 and have loved every minute. At the age of 68 I figure I still have another twenty to thirty years to sail and enjoy life. Incidently, I would really like to find a good crew and sail thrughout Asia. Finally, the long term plan would be to sail on from there into my own sunset. And, yes, I'm a idealist, polItical liberal, and a bit of a dreamer. I figure, dream the dream, then walk the path. One might as well have a compus heading! Finially, I travel with a wonderful female friend of mine (see picture -- "Red"). ![]()
